Leave home for Paris
Weather sunny and dry with an uneventful run down and a smooth crossing then a brisk run down to Paris. Disaster 1 - Nick loses his satnav to the motorway so is without the whole trip - he gets lost less than the rest of us now. Our overnight stop was on the south side so after a long day's ride we had the joy that was the famous 'peripherique'. Utter nutters the lot of them. our hotel was basic and clean but we arrived a bit late to get anything to eat or drink so we are in Paris, a gastronome's delight and have our evening meal of a dodgey bun and can of coke from a reluctant vending machine! Too tired to care really.

Leave Paris for L'Escala, Spain
Aching a bit but a nice breakfast and brisk start in the fine weather (after the paramedics carted a bloke off on a trolley) saw us hammering away south toward the Millau Bridge. The weather turned worse, foggy and the cold became a heavy storm in which we all got wet and hoped the weather was going to improve A LOT. The Millau Bridge was very impressive then it seemed we entered a tunnel and came out the other side in to lovely warm sun! The roads became a lot more bendy and it finally seemed we were going to have a fine holiday. Stopping often now for leg stretch / water / loo / toll we pass in to Spain and soon stop in L'Escala, call Jacky who comes out to guide us in to the villa. Again it is a bit late but Jacky kindly takes Lynn to the supermarket in the car for beer (oh yes and food) Sleep...

Floating in Pool day
Aching... Yes that would be us today! Walk down to the local shops (stop for a beer on the way of course) and buy beer and things. Returning we called in for a beer to our new local and watched the Moto GP, as you do. More poolside laziness and Nick cooks up an excellent barbecue - so we had a beer to celebrate.

Trip out - Up north East coast then Cadaques
Nice ride up toward the French border along the coast then back to Cadaques for pizza lunch, weather nice and warm. Grahams bike starts dumping its water when it gets a bit warm so is a bit of a worry. Back at the villa Jacky comes to the rescue with a number for the local Triumph dealer in Figueres which is only 30mins away! Told to bring it in next day. :(

Pause
An unplanned lazy day today as Grahams bike is took to the dealers first thing. A  nice day if a bit subdued, around the pool and getting supplies in. i suspect  beer was consumed and the sun's rays absorbed  and finished off with totally splendid Steaks barbequed by Nick

Triumph fixed - Hurrah!
Kev stayed in bed with a migraine and everyone else went down to L'Escala for photos and a wander about, We are to ring the dealer this evening to check progress, Fingers crossed. weather has warmed up nice but there is a storm in the distance. Kev feels better in the afternoon and when we can wait no longer the dealer is rang. HURRAH! it has a temp fix and is ready to pick up. we all go and yes the storm is now here but we dont really care and make plans for a trip to Andorra tomorrow.

Thursday 7th June

miles
approx 300 round trip

Andorra
Every weather and every type of road covers this trip with some serious twisties, long tunnels and plenty of climbing through the Pyrenean mountains. Sat in a covered garage forecourt for a while watching the storm bounce the rain very hard but soon back in the nice weather. Very tiring on the arms on the way back with 30 miles on 30mph very twisty roads. A great ride out and happy we did manage to fit it in.

Friday 8th JuneFurther Laziness
bit knackered after yesterday's excursion but Nick was the hero and got his leg over (his bike) to get croissants for breakfast. A nice day of sun, pool then a  Lovely Chinese meal in town to finish off the hol (likley a few beers went in there somewhere).
Saturday 9th June

miles
620!

1000km!
8:10am saw us on the road for a heavy day's motorway blasting. The Millau bridge was really stunning as it was in full sunlight on the way back. We have the joy that is the Paris ring road (Peripherique) on a Saturday evening, bound to be quiet? - you having a laugh? We find the Comfort Inn at Charles DeGaulle Airport, shower, eat and sleep - very very tired.
Sunday 10th June

Last leg
A good early start sees us at the Channel Tunnel with an hour to spare so a nice lunch break is in order. The usual painless crossing and continental type speeds soon has us on the M1 for home but Graham suffers a puncture! Real bummer as he will finish the trip on a breakdown truck. Kev Nick & Lynn arrive back at New Marske 6:55pm but Graham rolls in at 12:20pm

A very good trip with a few spoilers but has to happen sometime, we have had a lucky run up til now

Managed a total of almost 2700 miles with no getting lost ish - satnav rocks!
